France, Spain, England, Sweden and Greece, besides Italy, have confirmed their participation in the Opitergium Trophy European Road Race Under 20, which will be held on September 16, in the city of Oderzo. The Local Organizing Committee composition has been defined. Joma tecnical sponsor.

Italy has a presence, of course, together with five more Nationals with a great tradition in the Continental Athletics panorama. With just under 70 days until the 2023 edition of the Opitergium Trophy European Road Race Under 20, the picture of the coutries that will compete with their middle distance team in Oderzo (Treviso) on Saturday, September 16, is beginning to be defined.

This initial group of six participating Nations is set to expand in the coming weeks as entry list become official.

The Local Organizing Committee composition has been defined: it will be headed by the president of the provincial Fidal, Dino Brunello. The new LOC also includes Giuseppe Zoni, event coordinator and executive who created the event in 2017 and who’ll be supported by Madalin Badea. Francesco Uguagliati, Regional FIDAL Commitee summit, has been named honorary chairman.

The others components are Antonio D’Aponte (Sectetary), Andrea Campitelli (National Team Coordinator), Vincenzo Guida (Guest Management), Mattia Picello (Social Media), Federico Zugno (Website), Daniele Perotti e Mauro De Carli (Logistics), Pietro Bernardoni (Arrival), Luca Solone (Start), Rosi Bettiol (Competition) and Giulia Alessandra Viola (Protocol and Ceremonies).

The event’s new website is up and running at europeanroadrace.com; in addition, the tecnical sponsor is official: the Opitergium Trophy European Road Race U20 will be branded Joma, spanish company that produces and commercilizes sports equipment in more than 120 Countries and which is also a technical partner of the Italian Athletics Federation.

The Opitergium Trophy European Road Race Under 20, born six years ago as an opportunity for competitive comparison, has grown rapidly overcoming even the pandemic, so that 13 Nationals took part in the competition in 2022.

The 2023 edition of the Opitergium Trophy European Road Race Under 20 – 5 km for women, 10 km for men, with the finish line placed in the Piazza Grande, has received the prestigious Road Race Label assigned by World Athletic, the World Federation of Athletics. This international promotion of the event, beginned at the Istanbul European Indoor Championship, will see as its next key stage the summer event in Budapest. Athletics’ future will pass throw Oderzo.
